PUC Volleyball Falls in Final Two Matches of CCAC Crossover Tourney

WHITING, Ind. - The Purdue University Calumet volleyball team dropped its final two matches of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Crossover Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Peregrines fall to 4-15 overall and 1-10 in the CCAC. Purdue Calumet fell in straight sets in the opener to nationally-recognized St. Xavier, as the Black and Gold managed just a season-low seven kills in the contest. Ashley Eaves led the way for PUC with four kills, while Stephanie Infante added nine digs. The Peregrines dropped a 3-0 decision in the finale against Trinity International, as the Trojans posted a 42-19 advantage in kills. Eaves once again paced PUC, tallying seven kills in the match. Jesse Miller added five kills and five assists, while Julie Sipek tallied a team-best 10 assists. Infante and Maria Frebis each reached double-figures in digs with 11 and 10 respectively. Purdue Calumet will be back in action next Thursday, October 11, when it travels to Palos Heights, Ill. for a match against Trinity Christian. First serve is set for 7 p.m. |
