IUSB Rallies to Take Down Peregrines

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Purdue University Calumet volleyball team took the opening set of the match, but was unable to close out the win in a 3-1 loss at Indiana South Bend on Tuesday night. The Black and Gold slide to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference with their fifth-straight defeat. Purdue Calumet got off to a good start, posting a .243 attack percentage in the opening set en route to a 25-18 victory. However, the Titans took over from there, notching 40 kills in the final three sets to cruise to the 3-1 win. The Peregrines managed an attack percentage of just -.064 in the final three sets to finish with .014 hitting. LaTiana Harris led PUC with seven kills, while tying Julie Sipek with a team-best nine assists. Hannah Amor, Maria Frebis and Jesse Miller each added five kills for the Peregrines. Sarah Lawson posted a match-high 30 digs on the night. The Peregrines will be back in action this Thursday, September 27, when they host St. Francis (Ill.) at the Fitness and Recreation Center for a 7 p.m. start. |
