HANCOCK, Mich. - The Purdue University Calumet men's soccer team recorded its second shutout of the season, defeating Finlandia University, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Peregrines snap a four-game skid with the victory, improving to 2-5 overall.

After battling to a scoreless tie in the first half of play, the Black and Gold were able to seal the victory with a pair of tallies in the final period. Aksel Dregelid put Purdue Calumet on the scoreboard early in the second half, redirecting Ahmed Alajmi's free kick from 25 yards out in the 51st minute. The Peregrines added another goal just eight minutes later on Juan Lopez's score from just inside the box.

PUC posted a 32-2 advantage on shots, led by five each from Alajmi, Djurica Bukur and Armando Gonzalez. Tom Spillman improves to 2-5 in goal for PUC, after notching his second cleansheet of the year with one save on the afternoon.

Purdue Calumet will be back in action next Wednesday, September 26, when it hosts Grace Bible at Hallmark Fields in Hebron, Ind. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m.
