Venezuela Native to Join PUC's Men's Soccer Program
Sunday, May 20, 2012

HAMMOND, Ind. - Kaskaskia College's Carlos Antonetti announced his commitment to the Purdue University Calumet men's soccer program this past week, becoming the 15th commitment for head coach James Drzewiecki's inaugural recruiting class.

"Carlos left a very good impression on us at our first Identification Camp," said Drzewiecki. "He's a very smart holding mid who can play quickly with his fellow midfielders. His size, strength, and maturity is obviously a big plus. He's going to take a lot of pressure off our backline and our keepers."

The 6-foot-2 midfielder was a two-year starter for the Blue Devils, competing at the NJCAA Div. I level. The Caracas, Venezuela native helped his high school, Calasanz Valencia, to a national Coca-Cola Cup title in 2007, before representing Venezuela in the International Coca-Cola Cup.

He is the son of Carlos Antonetti and Alexandra Armas and plans to major in mechanical engineering.
