Purdue Calumet Finishes Second at ONU Invitational
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Purdue University Calumet golf team recorded its best finish of the year, placing second at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The Peregrines tallied a team score of 665 for the two day event at Balmoral Golf Club. St. Xavier took home the team crown with a score of 622, followed by the Peregrines and Olivet Nazarene A. Purdue North Central, Chicago State and Olivet Nazarene B rounded out the field. Mat Bowen led the way for the Black and Gold, firing a 79 in his closing round en route to a 162 and a seventh-place finish overall. Aaron Mercer was just one stroke behind, claiming eighth place with a 163. Purdue Calumet will travel to Lake Geneva, Wis. this weekend, September 30 - October 1, when it competes in the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational. |
