A column from the desk of Purdue University Calumet Director of Athletics Rick Costello
December 2012

Season Greetings!

On behalf of all the student athletes, coaches, and staff of Purdue Calumet Athletics, I wish you and your family a Happy Holiday!  As the Peregrines head into 2013, we have many outstanding accomplishments to celebrate from the 2012 Fall semester at Purdue University Calumet including:  the debut of the men’s and women’s soccer program, the NAIA recognized Purdue Calumet as a Five Star Champions of Character Institution, six student-athletes named Academic All-CCAC, two selected as NAIA Academic All-Americans, and the Women’s Basketball team ends the semester on a nine-game winning streak and receiving national consideration as a top NAIA program.  We have so much of which to be proud!

Earlier this month, student athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, staff, and Victor and Pride Peregrine participated in the Hammond Holiday Parade.  It was awesome to see Team Peregrine giving back to a community that has given so much to Purdue University Calumet Athletics.  Please take a look at the parade photo’s to see an outstanding display of Black and Gold in Hammond (pictures).  Purdue Calumet Athletics followed up by hosting Kids Day on December 15 which included Twinkie the Clown, a bounce house, face painting and lots of fun activities (pictures).

Much excitement is in store for Purdue Calumet athletics in 2013. In January, we will announce our new Baseball and Softball Coaches. This will truly be an exciting time as we continue our athletic expansion.

Happy New Year and Go Peregrines!!
